It's said Phebe's tombstone reads, "Phoebe, dau of Col Elisha Lawrence," but where is this tombstone?!
Many secondary sources allege these are Phebe's parents:

but the evidence not only doesn't support the connection, it argues strongly against it.

ARCHIBALD DAVIS was born on the old Davis homestead, in what is now Black-lick township, in 1807, and was a son of William and Phebe Davis, nee Lawrence.  The former was a son of William Davis, a native of Ireland, who was among the early settlers of Black-lick township.  His wife was a Welsh lady by the name of Waugh...  William and Phebe Davis’ children were:  William, d., m. to Christina Herald, d.; Archibald, m. first to Matilda Kurtz, d., daughter of Jonathan Kurtz, and second to Mrs. Mary Culbertson, nee McChesney; Elizabeth, d., m. to Joseph Pershing, d.; Jane, Rachel. d., m. to Thomas Burns; John, m. to Mary Rankin, and David, m. to Rebecca Day....
