Note: A patrilineal male descendant of our subject is participating in the CORBIN Y-DNA Surname Project. Because our subject's father is unknown, it was not expected that his descendant would genetically match Amanda's CORBIN family, and he doesn't. He does have a close match (65/67) with a WOODRING family, descendants of a Paul VAUTRIN of Alsace. In the 1900 census, we do find Amanda CORBIN enumerated next to a Henry WOODRING, a descendant of Paul VAUTRIN. If Henry WOODRING isn't our subject's father, a WOODRING closely related to him is.
