Records relating to Arthur Corbin’s service in the Revolutionary War found in the South Carolina Department of Archives and History in Columbia, SC.  John Fontaine signed that he received one year’s interest of £5.0.11 on August 28, 1787.  Fontaine signed another statement on July 3, 1789, for interest of the same amount.  His signature was very poor.  Corbin provided public service in 1782. The documents were witnessed by Benjamin Bruton. Documents found in the Combined Index to 28 Record Series, 1675-1929.

Did Edward m. Penelope (Penny) b. ca 1805 S.C.? Died post 1860 census Beaufort Co. S.C. When?  Penelope Corbin listed 15 February 1834 Minutes Prince William Primitive Baptist Church, Beaufort S.C. 1850 census of Beaufort lists Penny Corbin head of household with sons Edward b. ca 1833 and Charles b. ca 1843.
Arthur Corbin lived St. Bartholomew's Parish, Charleston Dist. S.C. 1790, St. Lukes Parish, Beaufort Co. 1810. 
Was Arthur Corbin related to Matthew Corben of Colleton Co. S.C. 1800 census?  And is he the same Mathual Corbin listed in the 1825 Beaufort Co. tax returns?  Did Mathual Corbin come from Halifax Co. N.C. where a Mathual, William and Charnel Corbin were listed as head of Households in the special census of 1784-1787?
