9.  Email from Debbie Grizzle Deaton (1 Feb 2003):
The 1900 census you have listed... shows Edith Corbin... that's my great-grandmother, the school teacher who eventually traveled to Denver, Colorado to teach and married Mark Wight of Trinidad, Colorado (banking & cattle family).  I have a photocopy of the marriage certificate from Quincy, Adams county, Illinois and the date reads Aug 7, 1865.  Apparently this was some kind of secret in my great-grandmother's time, as I have her notes where she was trying to locate the exact marriage date and place... Arianna never told her own daughter.

MY NOTES:
AVC was last of 12 children.  --per Elaine Olds Williams Grizzle (my mother)

AVC was in Andersonville (Confederate Prisoner of War Camp).  When released they moved by wagon train from Cynthiana, Kentucky to Winfield, Kansas, where both AVW & Ariana are buried.  Were in Kansas when the locusts came thru and ate everything in site. -- per Elaine Olds Williams Grizzle...

John E. Pickard, War Dept Letter dated 30 Dec 1926 to Mrs. Edith Corbin Wight.

22 July 1864:  Taken prisoner & held at Andersonville
