2a.  1850 Census Every-Name-Index/Images (online at Ancestry.com, Image #28 of 44 — our subject is enumerated and indexed "Runey"):  Barr Twp., Daviess Co., IN, Roll M432_140, p. 165A, enumerated 23 Oct 1850, official enumeration date 1 Jun 1850 (extracted by Diana Gale Matthiesen):¤•

The senior George CARICO is our subject's widowed father.  The ditto marks after the senior George's surname and Rose RAINEY's surname line up with those from the prior record, indicating surname "Donahue," which, of course, is absurd.  The ditto marks for George Jr. are an outright error because this is our subject and his first wife, Elizabeth (BURRIS).  Back then, "insane," could mean senile or retarded, not just "psychotic" (and I'm inclined to apply it in the latter meaning to the enumerator).  Also back then, "Ia.," was an abbreviation for Indiana, not Iowa.

2b.  1850 Census Every-Name-Index/Images (online at Ancestry.com):  Maryann SUMMERS (æ 9, b. IN) is living in Reeve Twp., Daviess Co., IN (p. 196A), with her widowed mother, Susan SUMMERS (æ 30, b. KY), plus six siblings, including Rachel (æ 1, b. IN).  The Thomas & Susan SUMMERS also enumerated in Reeve Twp. are Thomas & Susan (NORRIS) SUMMERS.

3.  1860 Census Every-Name-Index/Images (online at Ancestry.com, Image #7 of 62):  Black Oak Ridge P.O., Barr Twp., Daviess Co., IN, Roll M653_251, p. 745, PN 7, 59/59, enumerated 4 Jun 1860, official enumeration date 1 Jun 1860 (extracted by Diana Gale Matthiesen):¤•

Rachel is Mary Ann's sister.  David is George's son from his prior marriage.

4.  1870 Census Every-Name-Index/Images (online at Ancestry.com, Image #60 of 66):  Worlington P.O., Barr Twp., Daviess Co., IN, Roll M593_306, p. 167B, PN 60, enumerated 24 Jun 1870, official enumeration date 1 Jun 1870 (extracted by Diana Gale Matthiesen):¤•

This enumerator was dropping dwelling numbers around right and left with no logic to them, at all; he obviously didn't understand how they were to be used.  He also shouldn't have indicated surname CARICO for Ruth BOWERS.
