Vincent married first to Frances ESTES on 5 Jul 1791, then second to Susannah QUICK on 18 Feb 1796. Whom you attach as Asa's mother depends when you think Asa was born, and secondary sources disagree. Has anyone actually extracted his baptismal record? The baptismal date isn't necessarily near the birth date, but it usually does give the name of the mother.

Marriage:
They are said to have married ca. 1824, but if so, James is not their son. Given Asa's age, an earlier marriage date is more likely.

James and Vincent consistently give their birthplaces as MO, while Susannah consistently gives hers as IL. Was Susannah mistaken or was Vincent? Or have we attached the wrong children to Asa?
