Jacob COPP
Keturah ELDER

Death:  8 Sep 1876, Hopewell Twp., Mercer Co., OH
Disposition:  Roberts Cemetery, Mercer Co., OH
Occupation:  farmer
Father:  Joseph COPP/COP
Mother:  Catharine MAIN/MAINS
Marriage:  20/23 Nov 1821, Perry Co., OH
Wife:  Keturah [Kitturah / Kitterah / Katurah / Catura] ELDER
Birth:  17 Sep 1803, Frederick Co., MD
Death:  28 Feb 1866, Hopewell Twp., Mercer Co., OH
Disposition:  buried Roberts Cemetery, Mercer Co., OH
Occupation:  homemaker

I've seen Keturah's name spelled many ways, none of them correct.  "Keturah" is a biblical name; in Hebrew, it means "incense."

Children — born in Fairfield Co., OH:
1.  Sarah COPP, b. 1 Jun 1824
2.  Levi T. COPP, b. 1831
3.  Amanda COPP, b. 1838/9

Levi and Amanda were certainly born in Fairfield Co.; Sarah is said to be born in Fairfield Co.

The marriage date is said to be 23 Nov 1821, so 20 Nov 1821 may be the license date.

There is obviously another family living with them, which is unfortunate because we can't deduce the family composition of our subjects.  Jacob was listed just two lines above his father, yet Jacob is missing from the index and Joseph is not.

The family is obviously taking in boarders, which is unfortunate because we can't deduce the family composition of our subjects.
