Laura Jane "Jennie" PAGE is Narcissa's daughter from her prior marriage. It's curious that Ellen chose to move with her father to Georgia, rather than staying with her mother in New York (see next record). One would have thought Rosalia/Rosa would have been the one to move with her father, rather than stay in New York with her stepmother.

This is one of those records where some idiot at NARA scribbled numbers over the names of the heads-of-households; however, William's surname clearly begins "Ch," so it's hard to figure why he was indexed "Wise." Narcissa has shaved a few years off her age. Narcissa indicates she has had six children, but we've identified only four, one of the deceased ones being her daughter, Laura Jane (PAGE) STROUP.

. Messages posted to the CHASE-L mailing list (archives at RootsWeb.com): a message there indicates Nathan married a Jane E. ABBOTT "second," after marrying Narcissa. But we know Narcissa outlived Nathan, so is "Jane E." actually "Elisa Jane"?
