Wilkinson BRASHEARS
Mary Angeline HOYE
WARNING:  The evidence making the widow of Wilkinson BRASHEARS the wife of Joshua M. CARRICO is circumstantial.  The names are uncommon and the pieces fit, so I'm satisfied with equating them, but further documention would be highly desirable.

These data indicate:
No. & Sex Age Class Therefore Born Individuals Inferred
1 male 40-49 1790-1800 = ?
1 female 4 or under 1835-1840 = Josephine (b. 1837)
1 female 5-9 1830-1835 = Mary Elizabeth
2 females 20-29 1810-1820 = Angelina
= ?
The name is this record is blurry and very hard to read, but it certainly could be Angeline/Angelina BRASHEARS.  As for the adult male in the record, he's very likely a boarder, but in any case, he's clearly not head of household or the record would be in his name.

3a.  1850 Census Every-Name-Index/Images (online at Ancestry.com, Image #74-75):  Washington City (Ward 4), DC, Roll M432_56, pp. 248B-249A,392/406, enumerated 15 Jul 1850, official enumeration date 1 Jun 1850 (extracted by Diana Gale Matthiesen):¤(•)

Mary E Carrico  9 F       Md
Joane     "  7 F       "
Frances Oneal 16 F       "
Mary and Joane/Josie are using their stepfather's surname.  Based on other records, Angelina has shaved a few years off her age and her daughters' ages, which is fairly typical for a woman her age seeking a husband.  The "age deflation" here is further supported by the fact that Mary got married in 1853.  Daughter Catherine is missing and presumed deceased.

3b.  1850 Census Every-Name-Index/Images (online at Ancestry.com):  Widower John G. HOYE (æ 53, b. MD; tailor) is living alone in Aquasco Dist., Prince George's Co., MD (Roll 295, p. 46).

4.  1860 Census Every-Name-Index/Images (online at Ancestry.com, Image #140 of 560):  Washington (Ward 4), DC, Roll 101, p. 142, PN 28, 182/198, enumerated 5 Jun 1860, official enumeration date 1 Jun 1860 (extracted by Diana Gale Matthiesen):¤(•)

James A.N. JIRDINSTON is Angeline's son-in-law, who appears to be widowed because the 20-year-old daughter of Angeline has to be Josie, whom we know is still living and marries in 1862.
