William Jefferson BOATMAN
Margaret Elizabeth BOATMAN |
WARNING: secondary sources do not agree on the parentage of our subjects. Some show William, as I do, as the son of Robert & Nancy (WILLIS) BOATMAN, with Margaret as the daughter of Jesse & Sarah (HUNTER) BOATMAN. Others have them reversed, with William the son of Jesse & Sarah and Margaret the daughter of Robert & Nancy. I do not know which is correct, but the marriage dates of the parents (see below) would lead one to assume William is the son of Robert & Nancy because, otherwise, William married very young. (In the 19th-Century, the average age for a man at first marriage is 23 and the average age for a woman at first marriage is 19, which dates fit our subjects exactly, as the first born of each couple.) |

Everything I have is online at this web site. I have no further information, so please don't write asking me if I do.
On the other hand, if you feel I've made an error, please don't hesitate to notify me, but in which case, There are over 18,000 pages on this web site, and I simply don't remember every page, much less every person on every page. |
