Kansas became a Territory in 1854, and there was a Federal Census of Kansas Territory in 1860. Kansas became a State in 1861. The entire 1890 census was lost. There were mid-decade State Censuses beginning in 1855. Some individuals indexed as being in Kansas were actually in what became Colorado in 1876, so I've placed their records there. |
