CRIMINAL COURT

JUDGE MCCAULEY ON
THE BENCH.

Enoch Young's Case Called.

MOTION TO CONTINUE THE CASE
UNTIL NEXT TERM OF COURT

OVERRULED BY THE JUDGE, AND
THE CASE ORDERED TO BE
PROCEEDED WITH.

YOUNG'S APPEARANCE IN COURT.

The Court-Room Completely Packed.

Court opened at 2 p.m., with Judge McCauley on the bench.
A motion was made by Capt. Scofield for a continuance of Young's trial, on account of the main witness, J.B. Gattchall, being absent and living in Warsaw, Ind., but it was found that Gattchall was in town, and the court over-ruled the motion and ordered that the trial proceed.  After calling the names of the witnesses, by the clerk, the prisoner Young was brought in.  He is somewhat bleached, having been cooped up for nearly four months.  He appeared rather cool and unconcerned; was well dressed and looked neat and clean.
Judge McCauley will go to Findlay this evening to attend court, and Judge Beer will be on the bench to-morrow morning, when Young's trial will proceed in earnest.
It was intended to have Judge McCauley preside this week, but did not get Judge Beer's request to that effect until Saturday evening, which was too late to change the order of things.
The court-room was completely packed with spectators.
