Source:  James Taylor Killebrew.  1987.  County Court Order Book "B" Part 2 for Christian County, Kentucky, for the years Nov. 1809 - 6 June 1814 for a County Court held at Town of Hopkinsville.  Christian County Family and History Research Society (4465 Cadiz Rd., Hopkinsville, KY 42240).  Numbers in first column are page numbers in Killebrew.  (Surnames changed to ALL-CAPS.)

9 18 11 Dec 1809 On motion of Abraham DAVIS infant and orphan of James DAVIS, deceased, and with the approbation of the Court made choice of William DAVIS for his guardian whereupon the said William DAVIS entered into and acknowledged bond in the penalty of four thousand dollars conditioned as the Law directs with Isaac CLARK and Henry CLARK his security. 
12 25  8 Jan 1810 On the motion, Miss Sally DAVIS, daughter of James DAVIS deceased, came into Court and being over fourteen years and with the approbation of the Court made choice of William C. DAVIS for her guardian whereupon the said William C. DAVIS entered into bond and security with Ben...
13 26   8 Jan 1810 On the motion of William C. DAVIS it is ordered that Henry CLARK, Lewis ELLIOTT and William DAVIS be appointed to divide the personal estate of James DAVIS deceased among the several heirs of said DAVIS decased.  (This entry was crossed out.)
13 27  8 Jan 1810 On motion of William C. DAVIS it is ordered that Samuel SMITH, John GILMORE, Arche LEE and John WILSON or any three of them being first sworn be appointed Commissioners to divide the personal estate of James DAVIS deceased among the several heirs of said DAVIS and report.
93 244  9 Jun 1812 Road from Rumsey Spring to the Tennessee State line to Wit:  William and John CHESTER, Daniel BLUE, Daniel GALBREATH, Malcom GALBREATH, Isaac CLARK 2 hands, Henry CLARK 2 hands, Isaac DAVIS, James DAVIS, Clark DAVIS, Tortle GALBREATH 2 hands.
129 341  6 Sep 1813 Ordered that Joshua CATES be appointed surveryor of that part of the Road from Hopkinsville to Clarksville Commenceing at or near Rumsey's old place and continuing to the state line and be assisted by the following hands:  Joshua CATES 7 hands, Isaac CLARK 2 hands, Henry CLARK 2 hands, Col. Henry CLARK 2 hands, Silas McBEE 3 hands, Solomon SUMMERS 2 hands and Isaac DAVIS 3 hands.
137 360   1 Nov 1813 Ordered that Daniel GALBREATH be appointed Captain and James DAVIS, John MARTIN, and Lewis FRENCH patrols within the following bounds:  From the state line near George GILMOREs including his plantation thence to Joshua CATE's including his plantation from CATE's to Daniel GALBREATHs and James DAVIS's on the West Fork including their plantations and from DAVIS's to the state line at or near Anderson B. CARR including Samuel MOORE's and said CARR's plantations.
[At the time, "infant" referred to any minor (child under age), not just to babies.]
