Thomas WITHINGTON
Elizabeth CARRICO
Tabitha CARRICO
PLEASE NOTE:  Some sources consider Elizabeth and Tabitha to be one person.  Almost all the dates here appear to be guesses, so it's difficult to have much confidence in this family group sheet.  Also both Thomas and his father are said to have had a wife, "Dorothea __?__."  It seems unlikely that both did, so until I find a record indicating which one was Dorothea's husband, I'm excluding her.

1.  Descendants of William Sr Witherington by Randy B. Wethington. [link died] Cites the following:
Richard D. Mudd's book, The Mudd Family of the United States, p. 234, which records the beginning of St. Paul's Church, Salt Creek, London, MO.  It states that Thomas WHITINGTON led a group of Catholics from Kentucky and Virginia to Coholkia, IL, in 1812.  The group then came up river by boat to London, MO, in 1813.
Apparently, Thomas only led the group; he did not stay and live in IL, but returned to Missouri.

3.  Email from Carol Mitchell (25 Sep 2001).  She says Elizabeth and Tabitha are the same person.
