Thomas? / Josiah? WESTBROOK

WARNINGSome sources attribute all of the following children to one "Chief" Thomas Ridley WESTBROOK, but the sources — all secondary — do not agree, so the parentage of these WESTBROOKs remains uncertain.  As my interest here is in THOMPSON genealogy, I will leave the matter an open question, for others to resolve.

Sources:

1.  Broderbund.  World Family Trees.  Vol. 4, Pedigree #2205.  This sources gives Thomas Ridley "Chief" WESTBROOK as the father of William, Westley, Littleton, Thomas, and Deberryman WESTBROOK.

2.  LDS.  Family Search: Internet Genealogy Service:  AF - Ancestral File (online at FamilySearch.org).  This sources gives Thomas Ridley WESTBROOK as the father of William, Wesley, Littleton, Thomas, Ridley, and Diberryman WESTBROOK.

3.  Email from "Karen."  Karen disputes the existence of "Chief" Thomas Ridley WESTBROOK, saying that there is a Thomas WESTBROOK and a Ridley WESTBROOK, with nothing to prove they are the same person, nor anything to prove that he was/they were part Indian.  Karen further states,
"I believe that my Deberryman is probably the son of Thomas.  Also, other sons were probably Littleton, Wesley, Thomas, Samuel, etc.  I do NOT believe that William B. Westbrook was his son.  I have no proof of this, but facts would point to the assumption that William, James, and Nancy (Westbrook) McGowan were children of a Josiah Westbrook."
