Leander married a total of three times (see Find-A-Grave).

2.  1820 U.S. Census Index/Images (online at Ancestry.com):  there was no 1820 census in Henry Co., TN.  I found no John VENABLE (or reasonable variation), anywhere, with the correct complement of children (or wife) to be our subject.

3.  1830 U.S. Census Index/Images (online at Ancestry.com, Image #105 of 118 — indexed "Vanath"; list was roughly alphabetized; official enumeration date 1 Jun 1830; extracted by Diana Gale Matthiesen):
1830 TN Henry Co. Roll M19_177 p. 56 Ln. 14 Vanable John 022 110 010 - 001 100 100 no slaves
These data indicate:
No. & Sex Age Class Therefore Born Individuals Inferred
2 males 5-9 1820-1825 = Ewing (b. 1824)
= Leander (b. 1822)
2 males 10-14 1815-1820 = Son B
= Luther (b. 1817)
1 male 15-19 1810-1815 = Calvin (b. ca. 1814)
1 male 20-29 1800-1810 = Son A
1 male 50-59 1770-1780 = John
1 female 10-14 1815-1820 = Elizabeth (b. 1815)
1 female 15-19 1810-1815 = Lucy (b. ca. 1812)
1 female 40-49 1780-1790 = Sarah
John is the only VENABLE in the county.  There is a Zephaniah THOMPSON (æ 20-30) enumerated in Henry Co., TN (p. 54).  The census is roughly alphabetical, so we can't tell whether or not the two households were located near each other.  Some have asserted that the male born 1800-1810 in our subjects' household is Zephaniah THOMPSON, but clearly it is not because he married in 1824 and is, himself, enumerated in 1830.

WorldConnect / Ancestry World Trees (online at wc.rootsweb.ancestry.com):  a file there entitled, "Some Descendants of Aaron Pinson and Elizabeth Wells," by "Mary" is the only believable accounting of our subjects that I've found.   Among other things, she states (though does not document) that:
"John is listed on the Warren [now Allen] Co. KY tax lists from 1805-1813, and on the Allen Co. lists in 1815, 1816.  He was in Paris [county seat], Henry Co. TN in 1823."
