Calvin THOMPSON
Ms. __?__
Sarah (__?__) SMITH
NOTICE:  a patrilineal descendant of our subject is participating in the THOMPSON Y-chromosome DNA Surname Project.  Anyone who suspects he descends from our subject on a direct male line can support that connection with a DNA test.  Please see this Haplogroup I1 results table to compare our subject with other Haplogroup I1 THOMPSONs.
Husband:  Calvin THOMPSON
Birth said to be:  8 Apr 1787
Death apparently:  1820-30, York Twp., Athens Co., OH

One file at WorldConnect shows Calvin b. 8 Apr 1787 and Sarah b. 4 Feb 1768 and says the dates came from a family bible.  I simply don't buy that Calvin married a woman 19 years his senior or that she had a child at the age of 53.  So, has the bible been mis-read?

Marriage-1:
Wife-1:  Ms. __?__
Marriage-2:  3 Mar 1811, Athens, Athens Co., OH
Wife-2:  Sarah "Sally" __?__
Birth said to be:  4 Feb 1768
Other Spouse:  Mr. SMITH

It is said that the marriage between Calvin and Sarah was a "marriage of convenience," in that each had children in need of support and care, which means SMITH may not have been Sarah's maiden name.

I cannot reconcile this record with our subject's household.  This Sarah would appear to be someone else's widow.
