It's impossible to reconcile this household in 1840 with the one in 1830.  Obviously, Barbara's death has caused disruption, but still it's hard to believe this is our subject; yet, surely it must be.  Listed two lines from William's brother, John STROUP, who is listed next to their brother, Simon STROUP, in one direction; and, in the other direction, listed ten lines from William's sister, Elizabeth (STROUP) CARNES/KEARNS

One would assume Susanna is William's daughter, but if so, where was she in the 1830 census?  Then again, she appears to be with him in the 1840 census, so is the 1830 census simply in error?

Here again, one would assume Sarah is William's daughter, but if so, where was she in the 1830 census?  Then again, she appears to be with him in the 1840 census, so is the 1830 census simply in error?
