2.  1850 Census Index/Images (online at Ancestry.com; Image #77 of 131):  Carbondale, Luzerne [now Lackawanna] Co., PA, p. 352A/703, enumerated 11 Sep 1850, official enumeration date 1 Jun 1850 (extracted by Diana Gale Matthiesen):¤•
5 9 William Moore 23 m   merchant   N Y
    Margaret E " 22 f       "
    Ellen Larkin 22 f       Ireland
6 10 Henry Stroup   m   merchant   "
    Maniose  "   f       "
    Catharine Nrland? 28 f       Ireland
This record is a mess.  No age is given for Henry or his wife "Maniose"(?).   Living with them is Catharine NRLAND? (23, b. Ireland).  The places of birth for Henry and his wife are ditto marks continuing from the previous household indicating "Ireland."  I do not believe any STROUP living in PA in 1850 was born in Ireland.  And if they were, why did the scribe not use a ditto mark for Catharine?  I think the census-taker forgot to put in the "Pa" for Henry.
