Charles D. Stroup, 63, of Titusville RD 3, died at 4:50 a.m. Wednesday, July 17, 2002, at his residence following an extended illness. Born Jan. 1, 1939, at Enterprise, he was the son of Marjorie Kerr Stroup and the late David C. Stroup.

Mr. Stroup attended the Titusville schools and had been self employed most of his life.  He was a member of the Never Alone Group following the death of his wife.  Mr. Stroup enjoyed the outdoors and hunting.  He was married in Las Vegas, Nev., on Sept. 25, 1972, to Mary L. Vaughn, who died April 15, 1998.  Surviving are his mother of Titusville; his father-in-law, Cecil Farr of Titusville RD 3; a son, John Stroup of Oil City; three daughters and their husbands, Kathy and Dennis Bown of Titusville, Joyce and John Gantz of Corry and Cheryl and Ed Firestone of Midlothian, Va.; and 14 grandchildren.

Also surviving are two brothers, Lawrence Stroup of South Gate, Calif., and Gordon Stroup of Titusville; seven sisters, Mrs. Paul (Patricia) Riley of Taft, Calif., Mrs. William (Barbara) Frantz and Mrs. William (Darlene) Kinney, both of Titusville, Mrs. Dwayne (Marilyn) Ray of Franklin, Mrs. Debra McCauley of Oil City, Jill Riley and Joan Stroup, both of Georgia; numerous nieces and nephews; and a special friend, Marge Wolfe of Titusville.

In addition to his father and wife, Mr. Stroup was preceded in death by a son, Cecil C. Stroup; and his mother-in-law, Dorothy Farr.  Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today in the Gordon B. Garrett Funeral Home, 303 N. Washington St., Titusville.  Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday in the funeral home.  Interment will be in Union Cemetery, Oil Creek Township, Crawford County.  The family suggests memorials be made to the Hospice of Crawford County, 3221/2 W. Main St., Titusville, 16354.

Marjorie L. Stroup, 89, of 113 S. Brown St. died at 3:32 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 1, 2003, at her home after a lengthy illness.  Born May 4, 1913, at Wesleyville, N.Y., she was a daughter of the late Lee and Blanche Lingo Kerr.  She married David C. Stroup on May 15, 1933, at Pleasantville; he died Nov. 8, 1980.

She attended the Enterprise school and Enterprise United Methodist Church.  She enjoyed her flowers, cooking Sunday dinner for her family and baking pies.

Survivors include several children and their spouses: Patricia Riley of Taft, Calif., Barbara and William Frantz of Titusville, Darlene and Bill Kinney of Titusville, Debra McCauley of Oil City, Marilyn and DeWayne Ray of Franklin, Gordon and Sharen Stroup of Pleasantville, Lawrence Stroup of Bell Flower, Calif., Jill Riley of Georgia and Joan Edwards of Georgia; a brother and sister-in-law, Richard and Hazel Kerr of Grand Valley; three sisters, Mildred Ames of Franklin, Elaine Moore of Titusville and Betty Murray of Erie; 32 grandchildren; 71 great-grandchildren; 31 great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.  A son, Charles Stroup; a brother, Floyd Kerr; and four sisters, Geraldine Stroup, Effie McCurdy, Lucille Kerr and Maxine Kerr, died previously.

Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at the Gordon B. Garrett Funeral Home, where the funeral will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday by the Rev. Vincent Seen, pastor of Hydetown Baptist Church.  Interment will be in Union Cemetery, Oil Creek Township, Crawford County
