This record makes so little sense, I'm ready to throw up my hands and just index Adam. It appears the enumerator had no clue how to enumerate a complex household and that he made some errors on top of that. My guess is… that the new visitation numbers are on the wrong line, that they should be on Adam's line; that the enumerator got himself "offline" with Adam's birthplace and that he was born in Germany, not Maryland — because there are no STRAUBs in any prior census of Maryland (and no others in Maryland in 1850). I also doubt very much that Amy was born in Germany. She is probably the daughter of William & Leah, so was surely born in Maryland and should have been listed after Leah. One can only surmise that the enumerator put her last because she was the youngest. As I said, I'm ready to throw up my hands over this one.

2. 1860 Census Every-Name-Index/Images (online at Ancestry.com): can't find, and that includes the LOGANs and the TEENs.
