Sources kindly provided by Prof. John Koster of The Shrine to Music Museum, University of South Dakota, Vermillion SC.

1.  Herbert Heyde.  1994.  Musikinstrumentenbau in Preußen.  Verlegt Bei Hans Schneider.  On p. 221, J. C. F. Straube is listed as a violinmaker (geigenbau) and owner of a violin-making workshop (werkstatt) in Berlin in 1813.  He is mentioned again on p. 289:
STRAUBE, Johann (1843-1906), Sohn des Geigenbauers J. C. F. Straube. 1869 Gründung einer Reparaturwerkstatt, von 1873/74 an Harmoniumfabrikation. 1907 von Johann PAPPE übernommen. 1919 Übersiedlung der 5-6 Mitarbeiter umfassenden Firma nach Lich, wo sie sich 1923 mit Förster & Nicholaus vereinigte (ZfI 12. 1891/92, S. 207; 43, 1922/23, S. 1139, 1355).
As best I can make out, Johann Straube was the son of violin-maker J. C. F. Straube, and he established a repair works and harmonium factory in 1873/4 (the harmonium is a keyboard instrument, also known as a reed organ).  It appears that after Johann Straube died, the works were taken over by Johann Pappe in 1907, then in 1919 by the firm (or became the firm) of Lich, and in 1923, Forster and Nicholas — but I don't read German, so I may be way off.

2.  Christian Ahrens & Grego Klinke.  1996.  Das Harmonium in Deutschland: Bau, wirtschaftliche Bedeutung und musikalische Nutzung eines 'historischen' Musikinstrumentes.  Verland Erwin Bochinshy, Frankfurt.  I don't read German, but it appears that this excerpt is a capsule history of the Straube harmonium factory/business, more complete than the source above.  On p. 239:

The letters and dates in parentheses are references to the book's bibliography, of which I do not have photocopies.  Note that this author cites our previous source (Heyde 1994...).
