2. 1830 Census Index/Images (online at Ancestry.com; extracted by Diana Gale Matthiesen): there is a John SNORABARGER in Columbiana Co., OH, but he and his wife are too old (b. 1770s and 1780s, respectively) to be our subjects, unless it was a second marriage for both of them, which there is reason to doubt. The reason for doubt is that the only STROUP in Columbiana Co., OH, who could have been Mary's father was William STROUP and he was born in 1764, so he was not the father of this John's wife. It is likely, however, that this John was the father of the two SNELLENBERGERs (John and Frederick) who married two of William's daughters (Mary and Lydia, respectively). 3. 1840 |
