1.  Marriage Record:

2.  Census Index:  Colonial America, 1607-1789 (Broderbund CD-310):
1778 Oath of Allegiance Shores, Thomas MD Charles Co. p. 114
He is the only SHORE/SHORES in MD on this CD.  Might he be John's father?

3.  Census Index:  U.S. Selected Counties, 1790 (Broderbund CD-311):
1790 Shore, John MD Frederick Co. p. 64 03-05-03-00-00
These data indicate:
Gender and Type Age Class Therefore Born Individuals Inferred
3 free white males 16 or over in or bef. 1774 = John (b. 1750)
= Son A
= Son B
5 free white males 15 or under 1774-1790 = John Jr. (b. 1778)
= Son C
= Son D
= Son E
= Abraham (b. 1786/7
3 free white females all ages in or bef. 1790 = Wife
= Daughter A
= Daughter B

4.  Census Index:  U.S. Selected Counties, 1800 (Broderbund CD-312):  there are no SHOREs in MD or PA indexed on this CD.  Our subjects are said to be PA.

5.  1810 Census Index and Digital Images (online at Ancestry.com; Image #46 of 106; extracted by Diana Gale Matthiesen):
1810 MD Frederick Co. p. 318/544 J Shore 00010-30010-00
These data indicate:
No. & Sex Age Class Therefore Born Individuals Inferred
1 male 26-44 1765-1784 = J.
3 females 9 or under 1800-1810 = 3 daughters
1 female 26-44 1765-1784 = wife
This couple is too young to be our subjects.  Is J. SHORE one of our subjects' sons?  Other than J. SHORE in Frederick Co., MD, and J. SHORE (our subjects' son, John) in Huntingdon Co., PA, the only SHOREs in PA are: Casper and George in Philadelphia Co.; Joshua, Samuel, and William in Luzerne Co.; and Daniel in Lancaster Co.

6.  Austin N. Shore (of Woosung, IL), "Record of the John Shore Family of Huntingdon, Pennsylvania":
The Shore family emigrated from Germany to America about the year 1750.

My Great Great Grandfather, John Shore, was born on the ocean while his parents were enroute to America.  They settled in Baltimore County, Maryland, where my Great Grandfather John Shore was born May 9, 1778.  The family all moved to Pennsylvania in the spring of 1791 and settled in what is now Clay Township, Huntingdon County, PA, December 17, 1801.  They lived in Huntingdon until their deaths...

Some secondary sources have the marriage date of John & Hannah as 17 Dec 1801.  Did the two events really occur on the same day?
