Elijah was age 50/51 and Sally was age 33/34 in 1839, so it could have been a second marriage for both of them.  The fact that Sally was given middle initial "P." — at a time when most records didn't include middle initials — may mean that Sally's maiden name began with a "P." Or, this record may not apply to our subjects; however, the birth of Hannah in 1839/40, with no earlier children, strongly suggests that it does.
