Alden SEARS, Jr.
Thankful PITTS Delaney VINCENT |
WARNING: This family group sheet is not documented, and there are some real problems with it. Most sources make Thankful PITTS the first wife and the mother of all the children, but Aaron's middle name indicates Delaney is his mother. Marshall's middle name indicates Thankful is his mother, but Marshall is younger than Aaron, making Thankful the second wife, not the first. But daughter Thankful, who is presumably Thankful PITTS's daughter, is older than Aaron. Can of worms — and the kind of confusion that makes you think there were two different Alden SEARS. Yet, sons Aaron Vincent and Marshall Pitts are living next door to one another in the 1850 census, strongly suggesting they are brothers. Or was Aaron's middle name really Vincent? Or Marshall's really Pitts? |
