Historically, women have married at an average age of 19, so I've made the daughters' birthyears 19 years before their marriage dates — it's as good a guess as any, and everyone is guessing.  We just plain don't know exactly when the children were born.  Given the age of his daughter (b. 1751), William had to have been born by 1730.

Regarding the marriage of Joseph LEWIS Sr to Elizabeth PLEASANTS, page 16 of "Cockes and Cousins" by Virginia W. Cocke quotes a letter dated 13 Jun 1956 by Katharine Cox Gottschald that says: "... I believe that through the build up of several records it is proven now to my satisfaction that the JOSEPH LEWIS who died testate in Goochland Co., 1783, did marry Elizabeth Pleasants, the daughter of Joseph and Martha (Cocke) Pleasants and that their daughter Mary married James Cocke and had two daughters ... one daughter SARAH LEWIS COCKE ... for the paternal grandmother Sarah (Lewis) Cocke ... another daughter ELIZABETH PLEASANTS COCKE ... for her MATERNAL grandmother Elizabeth (Pleasants) Lewis."

There is a Joseph LEWIS in the AF said to be the son of Joseph LEWIS, to have been born 1742 in Goochland Co., VA, to have been christened 23 Dec 1748 in Charles Co., MD, to have married Catherine LACY in 1769 in Elizabethtown, NJ, and to have died in Union Co., PA.  The only thing plausible here is that the man christened in MD might have died in PA or that the man who married in NJ might have died in PA — otherwise, you've gotta be kidding!
