This William KING is the only one indexed Madison Co., KY.  Other KINGs in Madison County were Aaron, Joel, and Michael.  This William appears to be the one who married Sally JARVIS, who — based on a file at WorldConnect — was the son of Aaron KING & Hannah DYER and the brother of Joel KING.  While the Madison County census list was roughly alphabetized, we find Aaron and Joel on adjacent lines and William just one line away, while Michael is on another page.

3.  1820 Census Index/Images (online at Ancestry.com):  not found, at least not in Madison Co., KY, nor were Aaron and Joel found, which suggests all were in Missouri — there was no 1820 Missouri census because it didn't become a state until 1821.

4.  1830 Census Index/Images (online at Ancestry.com):  Joel and Aaron are in Chariton Co., MO, along with an Andrew, James, and David.  William may be living with one of them or may be in some other county.

5.  1840 Census Index/Images (online at Ancestry.com):  Aaron, Joel, William, and Thomas KING are living in Macon Co., MO.

6.  1850 Census Index/Images (online at Ancestry.com):  there are two William KINGs in Macon Co., MO, but both are too young to be our subject.  There is also a Joel KING in Macon Co., MO, but he is too young to be our subject's brother.
