James KARNS
Mary STROUP |
Husband: James KARNS / KERNS
Birth: 28 Feb 1795, PA Death: 1871, Pinegrove Twp., Venango Co., PA Occupation: farmer Father: John KARNES (c1755-c1815) Mother: Maria "Polly" NICELY (c1765-1833) |
Marriage: |
Wife: Mary "Polly" STROUP
Birth: 1796-99 or 1800-1810, PA — said to be born in Patton Twp., Mifflin [now Centre] Co., PA Death apparently: 1870-80, Pinegrove Twp., Venango Co., PA Occupation: homemaker Father: Adam STRAUB / STROUP Mother: Eva __?__ It's unusual for a woman to inflate her age, but Mary is older in the 1850/60/70 censuses than she was in the 1830/40 censuses, and a younger age at first marriage would make more sense. Or did James marry a second time, between 1840 and 1850, to a different, older Mary? Mary is said to have died in 1884, but I cannot find her in the 1880 census. |
Children — born in Venango Co., PA: |

in the above sequence; he could be either of the two apparent survivors,
most likely the eldest one (Son A).

Everything I have is online at this web site. I have no further information, so please don't write asking me if I do.
On the other hand, if you feel I've made an error, please don't hesitate to notify me, but in which case, There are over 18,000 pages on this web site, and I simply don't remember every page, much less every person on every page. |
