This page has a serious anomaly. The marriage records show Mary A. TWEEDLE married a John R. HOWARD in 1859, but the 1860 census shows her husband as Dr. J. HOUSTON. So, is the error in the marriage record or in the census? Perhaps if I could find the couple in a later census, it would give us an answer, but I can't find either one of them in the 1870 or 1880 censuses. It would certainly be worth examining the microfilm of the marriage record to see if it was mis-read by the transcriber. My interest here is STROUD, so I just can't take the time to do it myself.

One would think Mary was Nancy's married daughter, but her marriage record shows she married in 1859 to a John R. HOWARD. So, is the marriage record wrong, or is the census wrong?
