Daniel is fibbing about his age (he should be in his 40's), perhaps to have appeared more attractive to Mary, who is obviously his second wife because she's too young to be the mother of the elder children.

Sarah and Daniel are living with others (see below). I can't find Mary or Matilda, at least, I don't recognize them (Mary may be married and Matilda may have assumed the surname of her remarried mother or adoptive/foster parents — or they may have died).
