John GOOSIC
Ms.  __?__
Margaret __?__
WARNING:  There are many issues on this page that are not resolved, but my interest here is not GOOSIC, it's THOMPSON (the spouses of Eva and Andrew), so I'm simply not willing to invest the time it would take to support this page properly.  Caveat emptor!
Husband:  John GOOSIC / GOOSICK / GUSICK
Birth:  1758/9, PA
Occupation:  farmer
Marriage-1:
Wife-1:  Ms. __?__

Given the alleged age of David, Margaret was too young to be his mother; and given the age difference between John and Margaret, we would have already assumed he had a prior wife.  Some say she was Rachel, while some say she was Julia Ann ROOT, but I've not found any evidence for her identity.

Marriage-2:
Wife-2:  Margaret __?__
Birth:  1786/7, VA
Occupation:  homemaker
Child with Wife-1 said to be:
1.  David GOOSIC, b. 1797

David and Eva are said to have been born in Meigs Co., OH, but Meigs County did not exist until 1819 — and Ohio didn't exist until 1803.  If John was living in the Northwest Territory, it would explain the dearth of records.

Child with Wife-1 or with Margaret:
2.  William GOOSIC, b. 1800-1810

William is said to have been born ca. 1820, but he was conveyed land in 1838, so he must have been age 21 by that date, which means he must have been born no later than 1817.  Based on the 1820 census, he had to have been born between 1800 and 1810; and if he is Margaret's son, it had to be closer to 1810.

Children with Margaret:
3.  Eva "Evy / Evey" GOOSIC, b. 1808/9
4.  Andrew Jackson "Jack" GOOSIC (Sr.), b. 12 Mar 1812, OH

In the 1850 census, Eva gives birthplace NH(!), and in the 1860 census, she gives birthplace VA.  It appears both are wrong and that she didn't know/remember where she was born, but if VA is correct, it raises the question as to whether Eva wasn't Margaret's child from a former marriage.
