Dorcas ALEXANDER

Some contend that Sarah is Dorcas's mother, but if so, one of their ages in the 1850 census is wrong.

3 persons employed in agriculture
So many of the children appear to be in the wrong age class that it's hard to know what's going on here.

5.  1850 Census Every-Name-Index/Images (online at Ancestry.com; Image #75 of 317):  56th District, Rockingham Co., VA, Roll M432_974, p. 96A, 1306/1309, enumerated 25 Sep 1850, official enumeration date 1 Jun 1850 (extracted by Diana Gale Matthiesen):
Benjamin Glover 59 M   Farmer   Va
Dorcas     " 57 F       "
Madison    " 35 M   Laborer   "
Sarah      " 28 F       "
Jackson    " 23 M   "   "
Margaret   " 20 F       "
Elmira     " 17 F       "
Amanda     " 25 F       "
Richard    " 15 M       "
John       " 12 M       "
Catharine  "  3 F       "
Harriet    "  6/12 F       "
Sarah Alexander 68 F       "
Some sources show Catharine and Harriet as our subject's children, but Dorcas is much too old to be their mother; they are more likely orphaned or visiting grandchildren.  Some sources have Sarah ALEXANDER as Dorcas's mother, but unless Sarah's age is off by at least a decade, she's too young to be Dorcas's mother.
