It is definitely "9," not "6" (see next source). The number in the next line above is "6," and I can only guess the indexer got off line or something.

This record may not be of our couple, but they are living 12 doors down from Lois's father, Capt. Joseph, next door to Joseph MEADER, and four doors down from Gideon MATHES. Without knowing anything about their children, it's impossible to fill in the chart. My guess would be that, at this stage in their lives, William and Lois might have one or two of their married children living at home, with their children.
