Robert Stewart Davis, a son of Stewart Davis, was born in Blairsville, in 1832.  He served in the Pennsylvania militia during the Lee raid into Pennsylvania, and also for eleven months in the band of the 11th Pa. R. C.  He served in the town council for three years, during the building of the water works.  He is master of the lodge of A. F. and A. M. and recorder of the A. O. U. W., besides being connected with other secret societies.  He was a tinsmith by trade, but for ten years has been connected as a commercial traveler with the wholesale houses of Philadelphia, except being with W. T. Kirk & Co., wholesale grocers.  His children are:  Amelia Elizabeth, Rosa J., Kate Black, and Molly Graff.
