JOHN DAVIS was born in what is now Blacklick township, in 1780, and was a son of William Davis, an early settler of that township.  He married Mary, a second daughter of James Gordon, a pioneer of Black-lick township.  Their children were:  Alexander, d.; Mary, m. to James Robinson, d.; Jane, d.; William, d., m. to Sarah Rhea.
