The author did not routinely put surnames in all-caps, so I have converted them to make for easier scanning for names.

For reasons known only to the author, he makes our subject the son of William6, the illegitimate son of Elizabeth5 CORBIN & Samuel RIDGEWAY.  He then, in the next paragraph, contradicts himself by saying our subject is listed as a son of David CORBIN (Sr.) in 1787.   The fact is he's shown as "son of David" in the 1810 census.  Also, there is nothing in the author's sources to suggest how he attached these children to William, and Elliott is certainly not one.
