Ralph CORBIN III
Rachel __?__
WARNING:  There is some kind of mixup between this page, the page for William CORBIN & Elizabeth SPINKS, and the page for William CORBIN & Rosanna, specifically with regard to the child, Rosey.  Caveat emptor until I can get it sorted out.

If Rachel was having children into the late 1770s or early 1880s, she cannot have been born much before 1740, which means there's a huge age difference between Ralph and Rachel.  Normally, such an age difference indicates either there was a prior wife or a generation has been skipped.

Husband:  Ralph CORBIN III
Birth:  ca. 1716, Accomack Co., VA
Death:  27 Jan/Feb 1800, Accomack Co., VA
Father:  Robert CORBIN I
Mother:  Ann __?__
Marriage:
Wife:  Rachel __?__
Birth:  ca. 1741
Death:  1810-18

The average age for a woman at first marriage is 19; the maximum age for a woman to birth her last child is usually between 40 and 43.

Children — born in Accomack Co., VA:
1.  Leah CORBIN, b. 12 Aug 1761; m. Maddux FISHER
2.  Sarah "Sallie" CORBIN, b. ca. 1762; d. bef. 1800; m1. William BROADWATER; m2. 1790, Joseph BROADWATER
3.  Robert CORBIN II, b. 3 Feb 1764
4.  Susanna / Susannah CORBIN, b. ca. 1765; m. George M. CROSSWELL
5.  Coventon CORBIN, b. 1765-70
6.  George CORBIN, b. ca. 1775; d. 1823, Accomack Co., VA; m. Nancy STERLING
7.  Rosanna / Rosannah "Rosey" CORBIN, b. 30 Jul 1777; m. Samuel JOHNSON
8.  Lavinia CORBIN, b. 1775 or ca. 1782
9?  Elizabeth CORBIN, b. ca. 1792; m. William DIX

•  Lavinia is said to have married twice, once in Sep 1796 and again in Nov 1796.  I find it hard to believe that such a short period of mourning was observed, so are two Lavinia CORBINs being mixed up here?  Or is one of the dates wrong?
•  It is virtually impossible for one woman to have children over a span of 31 years (the usual maximum span of fecudity is 23 years).  Either Elizabeth's birthyear is wrong or she's not their daughter.
