Please Note: many secondary sources equate our subject with the John CORBIN who married ca. 1824 to Elizabeth __?__. The main problem with this scenario is that none of that John's census records show a son the age of our subject's son, Ferdinand (b. 1819/20). On the other hand, secondary sources show Anthy's death in 1837, which would mean they had to have divorced, so Ferdinand could be living with her. Note also that this John was engaged in "manufacture" (see below), while the other John was a farmer. Still, this scenario may be possible, but I'd like to see some additional evidence confirming it. |
