Will of William Carroll from Newfoundland will books volume 8 page 34 probate year 1906. In the Estate of William Carroll deceased. In the name of God, Amen. This is the last will & testament of me William Carroll of Renews. I have in the Government Savings Bank St. John's about $900. (nine hundred dollars) and in the Montreal Bank about $2900 (Two thousand nine hundred dollars) I will that these two sums and whatever else I may die worth be equally shared between my wife Emma Carroll and my daughter Emma Edstrom.  I will that whatever remains of my wife Emmas share after her death, becomes the property of my daughter Emma Edstrom, and I further will that should my wife Emma & my daughter Emma Edstrom die, and all or a part of the above sums yet remain, the same must become the property of my grand children (Emma Edstrom's children) and I still further will that my grand child Mary Edstrom be principally considered and I do here and now appoint Rev. John Walsh P.P. of Renews to be my lawful executor in carrying out as best he can my wishes as expressed in this my last will and I now sign my hand at Renews in presence of witnesses & after this will has been read over & explained to me this 27th day of March 1906 signed William his x mark Carroll witnesses John Conway, Lawrence Doyle.
