Feb 17, 1795 from James Witherington, Richard Witherington, Benjamin Witherington, Ignatius Obryan and Rhoday, his wife, Basil Obryan & Eleanor, his wife, Allen Shuttleworth & Anne, his wife, Mary Carrico, widow of William Carrico of CC, to Thomas Waters of CC, for 151£ 2 shillings and 6 pence, part of a tract of land called Gates' Range, and part of a tract of land called Witheringtons Chance, and bounded by Hunts Venture, Sothorons Discovery, the original dividing line between sd Witherington's and Leven Sothoron, containing and now surveyed and laid out for 72 acres and 1 rood. Also conveyed is part of Witheringtons Chance, lying between Sothorons Discovery and the Two Friends, containing about 20 acres and 3 roods. It is also absolutely clear from the deed that Mary is the widow of William CARRICO and that she was widowed by 1795.
