1.  Research of Timothy Carrico Weaver (1997) at the Torre do Tombo (National Archives) in Lisbon and the records of the Municipal Library of MontemoroNovo, Portugal, described in an email from him to Carol Mitchell, which she then posted to the CARRICO-L mailing list.  The Archives of CARRICO-L are online at RootsWeb.com  When you reach the search engine, enter "carrico" (without the quotation marks); this will take you to the CARRICO-L archives.  Then enter "inquisition" (without the quotes), which will pull up the two posts containing Timothy's information on Carrico in Portugal.  The following is cited by Weaver:

  • Baptismal, marriage, and death records of MontemoroNovo in the Archives of Évora (Évora is the capital city of the District of Évora, Portugal).  MontemoroNovo Nossa Senhora do Bispo Martiz.  Nossa Senhora do Bispo.  L.N. 3.  Baptisimas, Principio 15/3/1556, Fini 28/10/1561.  On p. 136:  Baptism of Maria Carrico, born 15 Aug 1561 in the Parish of Na Sa do Bispo, d/o Manuel Pires Carrico and Maria Lima.

The IT guys on the big iron hated the Personal Computer because it gave users freedom and power; now they've conned you into being back under their control.
