R.W. Coon

R.W. Coon, 44, a resident of this city for nearly forty years passed away at 7 o'clock this morning at his home in the town of Harmony.  He had been ill for more than two years.

Mr. Coon was born at Mt. Carroll, IL, Dec 25, 1876 and came to this city when four years old.  He spent his life in this city until one year ago when with his family he moved to a farm in the town of Harmony.  He was united in marriage in 1895 to Miss Caroline Terwillegar.  To this union was born three daughters, Mrs. Alexander Hamilton, town of Janesville, Mrs. Harley E. Badger, this city; Miss Lula Coon, Harmony.

Besides his wife and children, he leaves to mourn his death one brother, Roy Coon, Cedar Rapids, IA; three sisters, Mrs. Nellie Grant, Rockford; Mrs Ellen Van Alstine, Rockford; Mrs Susan Hayes, Alberton, Mont.

Funeral services will be held Thursday afternoon in Oak Hill Chapel. Internment will be in Oak Hill cemetery.

Mrs. Harley Badger

Mrs. Harley E. Badger, 60, 1603 Mole Ave. died at 6 o'clock this morning in Mercy Hospital after having been in failing health several years.

A lifelong resident of this area, the former Lola Terwilleger, daughter of Jacob and Carrie Terwilliger, was born in the town of Janesville Aug 26, 1903 and was married in Janesville April 2, 1920, to Harley Badger.   She was a
member of the First Baptist Church.

Survivors are her husband; two sons, Harley Badger jr., Willoughby, Ohio and Robert Badger, Beloit; three daughters, Mrs. Walter Bartz, Edgerton, Mrs. Lawrence Francis, Janesville, and Mrs. James Hanson, Omaha, Neb.; nine
grandsons; seven granddaughters; and two sisters, Mrs. Alexander Hamilton, Rte. 4, and Mrs. Glen Church, Janesville.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday in the Overton Funeral Home, the Rev. Wayne A. Dalton, First Baptist Church, officiating.  Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery.  Friends may call at the funeral home from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday.

Mrs. Glen M. Church

Mrs. Glen M. Church, 60, 2009 Magnolia Ave., a lifelong resident of Janesville, died Friday night in Mercy Hospital following a long illness. 

The former Lula M. Coon, daughter of Ralph W. and Carrie Terwillier Coon, was born in Janesville Aug. 26, 1903.  She was married Oct 10, 1922, to Glen M. Church.  She was a member of the Methodist Church.

Surviving are her husband; two sons, Ralph, of Memphis, Tenn., and Peter, of Janesville; two daughters, Mrs. Robert O'Leary, Janesville, and Mrs. John Whaley, Beloit; six grandchildren; and a sister, Mrs. Alexander Hamilton, Rte.
4, Janesville.  She was preceded in death by a son, Richard Dale, in 1934, and her twin sister, Mrs. Harley Badger, Dec. 17, 1963.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the Wolfgram Funeral Home, the Rev. Gerald Moede, pastor of Christ Methodist Church, Beloit, officiating.  Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery.  Friends may call at the funeral home Monday afternoon and evening.
