*Amy is said to be a cousin of Vermont Revolutionary War hero, Ethan ALLEN (1738-1789), but in order for two people to be cousins, they must have a common ancestor at some point. I've examined the pedigrees of Caleb ALLEN and Ethan ALLEN (at least, the ones online), and at no point do they intersect, so the legend of Amy ALLEN's connection to Ethan ALLEN would appear to be false.

COBBs in Rutland Co. were: Allen in Pittsford, Ebenezer in Fair Haven, Esther and John in Orwell, Joshua and Willard in Pawlet. Checking the numbers (images online at Ancestry.com), Mary is not living with either Joshua or Willard, so it's possible she has died, though she could be living elsewhere with one of her other children.
