            Be it remembered that on this day the 30th day of December 1840 Personally appeared David Clark (Jr) well known to me, and made oath in due form of Law.  That he is now forty seven years of age and is the seventh child of David Clark (Sr) and Charity Clark.  That he knows his father David Clark was always reputed to have been a soldier in the revolutionary war, and believed so to have been.  That his said father and mother once resided in the County of Christian and State of Kentucky.  That they afterwards removed to the County of Weakley and State of Tennessee where his said father resided until the 15th day of August 1825 when he departed this life, leaving as his widow and _____ the said Charity Clark, the same who is now making application for a pension as his widow.  That some time since she removed to the County of Graves and State of Kentucky where she now resides.  That he knows his said father died on the 15th of August 1825, and that said Charity is his widow and that she has remained single and unmarried ever since the death of her said husband.
Sworn to and subscribed before me as a Justice of the Peace in and for said County the date aforesaid.
