Foster, John L. Chrisman, Elizabeth [Mrs] 24 Mar 1848 Jackson Co.
Chrisman, Ewing Foster, Martha 10 Apr 1848 Jackson Co.
There were children of other CHRISMAN families marrying in Jackson Co. about this time, so I can't be certain the Ewing CHRISMAN who married Martha FOSTER is the son of our subjects, but it seems highly likely.  Unfortunately, I cannot find Ewing in the 1850 census — anyone know where he was?

2.  1820 Census Images (online at Ancestry.com; Image #5 of 25; extracted by Diana Gale Matthiesen):
1820 VA Lee Co. p. 128 Chrisman Charles 000100-00100-0-100
These data indicate:
No. & Sex  Age Class Therefore Born Individuals Inferred
1 male 19-25* 1794-1801 = Charles (b. 1793)
1 female 16-25 1794-1804 = Elizabeth (b. 1802/3)
1 person engaged in agriculture
*In the 1820 Census, the third column is age class 16-18 and the fourth column is age class 16-25; therefore, any individual in column three is duplicated in column four.  By subtracting the number in column three from the number in column four, you can create an age class "19-25."

3.  1830 Census Images (online at Ancestry.com; Image #13-14 of 78; extracted by Diana Gale Matthiesen):
1830 VA Lee Co. pp. 296B-297A Chrisman Charles 200 001 - 200 010 010 000 - 000 000
These data indicate:
No., Race, Gender Age Class Therefore Born Individuals Inferred
2 white males 4 or under 1825-1830 = Ewing
= Sanders (b. 1826)
1 white male 30-39 1790-1800 = Charles (b. 1793)
2 white females 4 or under 1825-1830 = Darthula (b. ca. 1828)
= Rebecca (b. 1825)
1 white female 20-29 1800-1810 = Elizabeth (b. 1802/3)
1 male slave 10-23 1806-1820 = ?
The list was roughly alphabetized, so no neighborhood reconstruction is possible.  Other CHRISMANs on the same page:  Gabriel, Gabriel, Isaac, Jacob, Joel, Nimrod, and Walker.

5.  1850 Census Images (online at Ancestry.com; Image #30 of 117):  Blue Twp., Jackson Co., MO, p. 276A, 4/4, enumerated 27 Aug 1850 (extracted by Diana Gale Matthiesen):

   "     Melinda 10 F     "
   "     Sarah E  9 F     "
   "     Martha? F  6 F     "
All I can confidently say about "Martha's" name is that it begins with an "M" and has a "t" towards the end.
