1. Ralph CAVE; predeceased his father; no known issue |
Bogus Connection: |
Our subjects are said to be the parents of Capt. Benjamin CAVE, but the will of Canon CAVE is said to mention no wife, no living sons, and only one deceased son, named Ralph (i.e., no son Benjamin, living or dead). As significant, Anna (STONEHOUSE) CAVE died in 1691, and Benjamin was born in 1702. There is no evidence that Canon CAVE remarried — and of a clergyman this famous, there would be a record — so there is no way they could be the parents of Benjamin (not to mention that Benjamin was probably born in Virginia!). |
