Comments:
A. One source say Jarred married Ann Baker STRUDER as his first wife, other sources say Jarred married Ann Baker LANE as his second wife. B. The date of 31 Oct 1774 is given by some as Mary's death date and her marriage date. It must surely be only her death date and not her marriage date as otherwise she would have been in her 80s or 90s when she married. C. One source says Jincy married Patrick PURSELEE/PURSLEE. Most sources say Ursula married Patrick PURSELEE/PURSLEE. D. There is a 45 year gap between this Peter and Ursula and their alleged eldest brothers. They would have been born when their alleged mother, Marie Alce, was over 65. This simply is not biologically possible. Either a generation (or two) has been skipped or Jean had a young second wife late in life. Even if the latter is the case, Peter and Ursula could not have been born in France as their father emigrated to America in 1685. I do not doubt that Jean and Marie Alce had a son Peter and a daughter Ursula, but I do not see how they could be this Peter and this Ursula. These given names were reused many times, generation after generation, in this family. It can be very difficult in cases like this to tell one generation from another, except by their birth dates, when known. |
