Family Finder test results suggest Catherine is one of the I1-L592 STROUPs descended from Johann Pieter STRAUB, 1733 immigrant to Philadelphia. I have yet to encounter any STROUP family living in early Tennessee (see TN censuses), and it's far, far more likely that Catherine was born in Berks Co., PA, where there were several STRAUB/STROUP families living at the time of her birth and where she would have met and married her husband before departing for Tennessee.
