There are (at least) two possible interpretations of Daniel's family: 1) that Daniel had a former wife, who is the mother of Permelia, and that Mary is his second wife and the mother of Elizabeth and Louisa; or 2) that Mary, like Permelia, is Daniel's unmarried daughter. I'm going to assume the former, but that assumption may be incorrect. Valentine STRAUB is Samuel SHILLING's uncle. I don't know if they (or Joseph SCHLEBAUGH) are kin or just boarders.
